Ultrasound of the foot and ankle
What is an ultrasound?
An ultrasound is a non-X-ray medical imaging procedure that uses ultrasound as an energy source. It is safe. There are no absolute contraindications. Ultrasound is used when clinical observations do not allow a confirmation of the diagnosis. Ultrasound investigation is also relevant when pain does not respond to conservative treatments. It is the examination of choice for the study of soft tissues and certain pathologies, such as tendinopathy, fibular dislocation, retro-calcaneal bursitis, ligament damage, joint effusion or synovitis, compression neuralgia, plantar fasciopathy, retinaculopathy, ganglion cysts, skin abscesses, gout and when a foreign body is suspected.
Echo-guided infiltration
The echo-guided infiltration allows it to act directly in the less easy access areas and to have the maximum precision during the intervention.
